Love makes us do crazy things.

After I graduated from University, I came to visit friends in Germany in 2010 and fell hard for a pretty awesome German guy. I packed up my life and moved here a few months later and although I miss family and friends, and ok, also the weather... I really love my life in Germany.

Professionally, I am an experienced English instructor who has taught English in Germany since 2011. With my work at Berlitz language school, I have taught at firms within various industries from MAN, SGL, Airbus, and Linde to many private classes and courses for smaller businesses. Since 2013, I have been a lecturer at the University of Augsburg for Business English courses.

 Whatever your English needs, I enjoy creating fun, challenging, and highly-tailored programs to improve my students' English and help them reach their language learning goals!

The 7 years I’ve spent teaching here in Germany have given me many unique insights into the specific challenges that Germans have with learning English. I know exactly where the “problem areas” are and how to fix them in a fun and interesting way. I’ve also learned that it is common practice within the language learning industry for companies to receive an English teacher from a language school who may or may not have much teaching experience. Quite contrarily, I studied English and Literature at the University of California, San Diego and received specialized training in interactive learning methods and how to use the dynamic group environment to improve learning rates for all individuals.

Previously, I worked as an outdoor guide and instructor for all ages, abilities, and activities like kayaking, rock-climbing, swimming, and back-country travel. I also worked as a team-building expert and motivator at a Challenge Course where we worked with many corporate groups to help improve confidence, leadership, and communication skills among colleagues and professionals. I carry these skills over into my classroom to give you the best possible learning experience!

I always have a smile on my face and I am genuinely excited and happy to help people. My friends think I have more energy than is humanly possible and bring that energy and enthusiasm into everything I do. In my spare time, I enjoy reading and writing, and playing outside. I also enjoying making music and I am a singer and piano player in a few bands in the region.
